Lebau & Neuworth is working to hold a large Maryland employer accountable for various transgressions regarding owed wages and the issuance of inaccurate W-2s.
Attorney Richard Neuworth filed a class-action against the employer for owed wages, alleging the offending employer violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and The Maryland Wage Payment & Collection Law. Hundreds of workers were not paid owed wages for overtime when working more than 40 hours in a workweek, and the workers are seeking what is owed to them, including triple damages and attorney fees and costs.
In addition, a claim was filed against the employer under 26 U.S.C. § 7434, for allegedly issuing false and inaccurate W-2s to its workers and not properly deducting federal income taxes. Federal law allows a $5,000 recovery for each inaccurate and false W-2 and payment of attorney fees.
More information on this case will be forthcoming as it unfolds.
