This month, attorneys at Lebau & Neuworth filed a lawsuit against Verizon on behalf of a victim of employment discrimination by the company. The case was pending in the Federal District Court in Maryland.
In this case, our client worked for Verizon for nearly two decades as a cable splicing technician. He was discriminated against because of his religion and retaliated against because he reported the discrimination.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has already issued a written determination in favor of our client.
The complaint shows how the retaliation came about because our client had the courage to report the wrongdoing and wrongdoers. This case illustrates the facts needed to prove even the causal connection between a complaint of discrimination and resulting retaliation.
